When it comes to mysticism, magic, anomalies, paranormal phenomena, poltergeists, witchcraft, and sorcery, the amount of serious thought I give to any of these topics is directly proportional to the amount of evidence available to support them. Mysticism and the Unexplained

Mysticism often evokes a sense of awe and wonder, as it allows us to explore the realms of the unknown and unexplained, particularly in relation to our emotional and spiritual lives. While there is a lot of misunderstanding around mysticism, many experiences are simply situations where our current understanding falls short. It is okay to acknowledge the existence of things we cannot fully explain, especially when it comes to personal experiences and feelings. Witchcraft: Tradition, Misunderstanding, and Commercialization

The history of witchcraft is fraught with both misunderstanding and commercialization. Traditionally, women have performed many useful and beneficial practices that were often overlooked for their value. However, in some instances, the term 'witchcraft' has been co-opted by commercial interests, leading to a misleading and often fraudulent perception. If someone is selling products or services that claim to make you a witch, they are likely trying to take advantage of your interest in the craft. However, exploring witchcraft as a pathway to deepen your connection with nature and discover your spirituality can be a valuable and enriching experience. Sorcery: A Suspicious Concept

Sorcery, unlike witchcraft, has a much more ominous and suspicious connotation. I have encountered numerous reports and personal experiences of individuals who have been affected by negative supernatural forces, often referred to as 'bad juju.' However, when it comes to definitive proof of sorcery, the evidence is lacking. To be classified as sorcery, a person should be able to produce supernatural effects at will, and this effect must not be a trick. In my extensive experience with skeptical inquiry and research, I have not come across any verifiable evidence that sorcery exists in the way it is commonly portrayed. The natural explanation for many of these phenomena often involves deception or psychological factors.

Investigations and Evidence

My involvement in skeptical inquiry and skepticism spans many years, during which I have delved into a vast amount of literature and conducted numerous investigations into these phenomena. Despite the resurgence of interest in paranormal research during the 1970s and 1980s, no significant findings were discovered. Many of the so-called "parapsychology" labs that were established at universities across the country have since closed down. One of the few remaining labs, after some time, announced that they were no longer studying 'phenomena' as no evidence had been found. Instead, these laboratories focused on the psychological and sociological factors that drive belief in such phenomena.

This continues to be the focus of much research. People believe in these phenomena for a variety of reasons: cultural influence, psychological needs, and even a desire for entertainment. Understanding these underlying factors is crucial in debunking false claims and providing a more balanced perspective on these topics.
