A Life Rewritten: Lessons From My Journey with Cancer and Faith

I'll never forget the day when my life took a turn that forced me to reconsider everything. Over 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors told me I wouldn't make it and advised me to get my life in order. But, as it often turns out, God has other plans. Here I am, 77 years old, and life is a beautiful journey filled with love and joy.

God's Abundance: Life’s Greatest Gift

God gives us a life to live, and that, in my opinion, is more than enough. Wealth, poverty, or beauty—it doesn't matter. God created every single one of us with an equal share of His love. In God's eyes, every human is cherished, and He loves us all equally.

Lessons through Experience

One of the most valuable things in life is experience. It helps us grow, mature, and understand the world around us. Sometimes, it feels as if God has misunderstood me and given me darkness instead of light. But as I navigate through these challenges, I realize that God’s light is still present, even in the darkest of times.

A Connection with God

The assurance that my name is written in the Book of Life through faith in what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross brings comfort and hope. It helps me to connect with God and His pure devotees. The holy name is like a beacon amidst life's storms, guiding me towards a deeper understanding of my faith.

Finding Joy in the Gift of Life

Amidst all the hardships, one tremendous joy has been the company of my beloved wife. Together, we've faced life's challenges and have grown stronger. Our children and grandchildren are our greatest gifts. Even if we were not particularly religious, we felt an overwhelming gratitude towards God when we named our firstborn Shai, which means 'gift' in Hebrew. Despite not being religious, we felt a deep connection to a higher power and the consequent blessings have been immeasurable.

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs. Through the trials I have faced, God has taught me resilience, gratitude, and the value of every moment. The journey may sometimes feel like a dark path, but God’s light guides us and helps us find our way back to joy and hope.
